چکیده

The Study was carried out at Department of Sericulture, UAS, GKVK, Bengaluru under irrigated condition during the 2020-21 to study effect soil application liquid organic manures in mulberry and its on larval cocoon traits silkworm, V-1 variety planted 90+150 × 60 cm spacing. Three different were tested against recommended dose fertilizer (control), leaf quality assessed via feeding silkworm. Significantly increased fifth instar weight (27.66 41.15 g/10 larvae, respectively) recorded both cross breed (PM x CSR2) double hybrid (FC1 FC2) silkworms fed with leaves produced from bio digested manure equivalent 150 % N ha-1 (T9). Double silkworm treatment (T9) showed significantly higher (24.76 cocoons), shell (5.89 shells), ratio (23.78 %), single filament length (1138.80 m) denier (3.65).

Effect of Salicylic Acid on Commercial Traits of the Bivoltine Crossbreed Races of the Silkworm, Bombyx mori L.

Topical application with 100, 200 and 300 ng/ml phytohormone salicyclic acid on commercial traits was analysed in bivoltine CSR2, CSR4 and CSR2XCSR4 crossbreed races of the silkworm, Bombyx mori L. The results showed that there was significant increase in larval weight female cocoon weight, male cocoon shell weight, and hatching percentage with 100 and 200 ng/ml, silkgland weight, female cocoo...

Biochemical and bioassay studies on the influence of different organic manures on the growth of Mulberry Variety V1 and silkworm, Bombyx mori Linn.

The genetic variation and diversity among fifty-eight polyvoltine silkworm genotypes was estimated by using ten economic traits. The results revealed that the single shell weight showed higher genetic variation such as PCV% (17.20%), GCV% (12.93%), and heritability (56.5%) followed by single cocoon weight, shell ratio and matured larval weight. The D2 (Mahalonobis? distance) statistics reveal...

Proteomic Analysis of Larval Midgut from the Silkworm (Bombyx mori)

The midgut is the major organ for food digestion, nutrient absorption and also a barrier for foreign substance. The 5th-instar larval stage of silkworm is very important for larval growth, development, and silk production. In the present study, we used 2-DE and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS) to analyze the midgut proteins from the 5th...
